One of the region’s leading advertising agencies had previously carried out a number of acquisitions, and after those had successfully helped grow the business, ibv were involved in assisting with a further acquisition.
Approaches had been made to a number of targets, and discussions commenced with another agency of similar size that had suffered a downturn in trade. The lease of their building was also expiring, thus providing an excellent opportunity to amalgamate the two businesses as the acquirer had excess space.
Negotiations commenced and a deal was agreed very quickly, from first discussions to completion of the deal took five months. The bringing together of the two businesses has proved very successful with the savings made from operating from one location.
